On September 15, 2024, Astrid Kleinveld, Director of the renowned travel company Green Hippo Travels, along with her Dutch friend Naomi Rugenbrink, visited Makuyuni Wildlife Park in Monduli District, Arusha Region. The visit allowed them to explore the various attractions and understand how they can develop tourism opportunities in the area, particularly for mountain climbing and walking safaris.
Accompanied by local tourism officer Chacha Masase, Astrid and Naomi had the opportunity to climb Mount Kipara, which stands 1900 meters above sea level within the park, and participate in a walking safari. They were able to get up close with wildlife and enjoy the stunning scenery.
“The beauty of this area is truly astonishing. We have experienced something unique, and I believe that any tourist will enjoy Makuyuni Wildlife Park, from the wildlife reception along the way, the breathtaking scenery, to the hospitality and expertise of the TAWA staff,” said Astrid.
She added, “We have explored the mountain and enjoyed walking safaris. We are now excited to include these attractions in our travel packages and invite guests from all corners of the world to visit this incredible area.”
The well-developed infrastructure, abundant wildlife, and captivating scenery make Makuyuni Wildlife Park an excellent choice for both domestic and international tourists.
Other tourism activities available in the area, which is home to various wildlife including buffalo, lions, elephants, leopards, giraffes, and zebras, include mountain climbing, walking safaris, bird watching, sunrise and sunset viewing, and cultural tourism with the Maasai community surrounding the area.
