Tanzanians living in France have been encouraged to invest in their home country’s financial and capital markets as the government seeks to strengthen diaspora participation in the national economy.
The appeal follows an investment education programme organised by the Tanzanian Embassy in France in collaboration with Exodus Brokerage Services, aimed at helping Tanzanians abroad understand investment opportunities available in the domestic market.
The training, held at the Tanzanian Ambassador’s residence in Paris, was officially opened by Tanzania’s Ambassador to France, Mr Saidi Yakubu. It brought together members of the diaspora physically and online.
The programme focused on how Tanzanians living abroad can participate in the country’s capital markets, access investment opportunities and make informed financial decisions.
The chief executive officer of Exodus Brokerage Services delivered the main presentation, explaining investment opportunities in Tanzania and the role of capital markets in connecting diaspora communities with economic activities back home.
Participants also had an opportunity to engage with investment professionals, seek clarification and exchange views on how to identify suitable investment opportunities based on reliable information and a proper understanding of financial markets.
The initiative highlights the potential role of Tanzanians abroad in mobilising investment capital to support economic activities at home.
Through partnerships with financial sector players, the embassy seeks to bridge the information gap between diaspora communities and investment opportunities in Tanzania.
Beyond encouraging financial participation, such engagements could help strengthen economic links between Tanzanians living abroad and their country, while enabling them to make investment decisions that contribute to both personal financial well-being and national development.
