The Mining Commission has announced new indicative prices for gold, silver and copper for November 2, 2026, providing updated benchmarks for mineral traders, miners and buyers across the country.
According to figures released by the commission, the world market price of gold stood at USD3,961.54 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS338,097.86 per gram.
At the domestic market level, gold was valued at TZS304,288.07 per gram, while the buying centre price was set at TZS297,526.12 per gram.
The figures provide different pricing benchmarks for the gold trade, with the buying centre rate offering miners an indication of the amount they could receive when selling their production through authorised centres.
For silver, the commission listed the international market price at USD50.10 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS4,275.79 per gram.
The domestic mineral market price for silver was set at TZS3,848.21 per gram, while buying centres were required to use an indicative price of TZS3,762.69 per gram.
Copper was listed at USD6.55 per pound on the international market, translating into TZS38.33 per gram.
Its domestic mineral market price stood at TZS34.50 per gram, while the buying centre price was TZS33.73 per gram.
The publication of indicative mineral prices is part of the Mining Commission's efforts to provide market guidance and improve transparency in mineral trading.
The prices are particularly important to small-scale miners and mineral traders, who rely on market information when negotiating sales and assessing the value of their production.
Tanzania has been strengthening regulation of its mineral trading system, with authorised buying centres and mineral markets playing an important role in formalising the sector and ensuring that miners receive fair value for their output.
The latest figures were published on November 2, 2026, through the Mining Commission's official communication platforms.
