Dr. Samia to swear in new Tabora RC, human rights commission leaders

President Samia Suluhu Hassan is scheduled to swear in four newly appointed public officials at State House Chamwino in Dodoma on Monday, in changes affecting regional administration, human rights oversight and labour dispute resolution.

The officials include Angeline Lubala Mabula, appointed Tabora Regional Commissioner, and Dunford George Mpelumbe, who has been named chairperson of the Commission for Human Rights and Good Governance (CHRAGG).

Omar Ali Omar, appointed vice-chairperson of CHRAGG, and retired Judge Wilfred Peter Dyansobera, the new chairperson of the Commission for Mediation and Arbitration (CMA), are also expected to take their oaths.

The ceremony, scheduled for 5am at State House Chamwino, will also involve the commissioners of the Commission for Mediation and Arbitration.

The appointments place the officials at the helm of institutions with important responsibilities in public administration, protection of human rights and the resolution of labour disputes.

Mabula's appointment gives her responsibility for overseeing regional administration and coordinating government activities in Tabora, while the leadership changes at CHRAGG come at a time when accountability, good governance and the protection of citizens' rights remain important public concerns.

At the CMA, the new leadership will oversee an institution responsible for facilitating mediation and arbitration in employment-related disputes.
