Simba SC moved closer to the CAF Champions League group stage after thrashing Equatorial Guinea’s 15 de Agosto 6-1 in the first leg of their second-round tie at the Uhuru Stadium on October 21, 2026.

The emphatic victory gives the Tanzanian giants a commanding advantage ahead of the return leg, scheduled for October 25 at the same venue.

Nathaniel Chilambo opened the scoring in the 43rd minute, giving Simba a 1-0 lead at half-time after a competitive first half.

Simba stepped up their attacking pressure after the break, with Elie Mpanzu doubling the lead in the 56th minute before Ibrahim Doumbia scored the third goal eight minutes later.

Keletso Makgalwa extended Simba’s advantage in the 71st minute, putting the hosts firmly in control of the encounter.

Anicet Oura added the fifth goal in the 82nd minute as Simba continued to dominate, before Doumbia completed his brace in the 87th minute to make it 6-0.

15 de Agosto managed a consolation goal through Alozie Uwandu in the first minute of added time, but the late strike did little to change the outcome.

The final whistle confirmed a 6-1 victory for Simba, leaving the Dar es Salaam-based club in a strong position to secure qualification for the group stage.

Simba will now look to complete the job in the return leg on October 25, when they host the Equatorial Guinean side again at the Uhuru Stadium.
