The publication of daily indicative mineral prices is part of the Mining Commission's role in providing market information to guide mineral trading and improve transparency in the sector.

The prices cover three key minerals—gold, silver and copper—and reflect the different values between international market quotations, domestic mineral market prices and buying centre rates.

Tanzania has continued to strengthen the management of its mining sector, with mineral trading and pricing among the areas requiring transparency to ensure miners receive fair value for their production.
