Mineral indicative prices for Octeber 22, 2026

Gold buying centres in Tanzania have been directed to use an indicative price of TZS311,219.61 per gram, according to the Mining Commission’s latest mineral price bulletin issued on October 22, 2026.

The bulletin places the international gold price at $4,151.97 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS353,658.65 per gram, while the indicative mineral market price stands at TZS318,292.78 per gram.

The figures provide a reference for transactions in the country’s gold trade, particularly for small-scale miners selling their production through official buying centres.

The difference between the international market price and the indicative buying centre price reflects the price adjustments applied along the local trading chain.

The bulletin does not specify the individual charges or deductions accounting for the difference.

Silver was quoted at $57.55 per troy ounce, with an international price equivalent to TZS4,902.02 per gram.

Its indicative mineral market price stood at TZS4,411.82 per gram, while buying centres were listed at TZS4,313.78 per gram.

Copper was quoted at $6.55 per pound on the international market, equivalent to TZS38.26 per gram. The indicative mineral market price was TZS34.43 per gram, while the buying centre price stood at TZS33.67 per gram.

The daily price guidance comes as Tanzania continues to strengthen oversight of mineral trading and expand the contribution of the mining sector to the economy.

For small-scale miners, the published prices offer a benchmark for assessing offers from buyers and comparing returns from mineral sales.

However, actual proceeds may depend on factors such as mineral quality, purity, applicable charges and the terms of individual transactions.

The Mining Commission publishes indicative prices through its official platforms as part of the regulatory framework governing mineral trading in Tanzania.
