Airtel Money Tanzania has announced a scheduled upgrade of its mobile money platform aimed at improving transaction speeds, strengthening security and making its services more reliable for customers.
The upgrade is scheduled to begin at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026, and is expected to be completed by approximately 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2026.
During the maintenance period, some Airtel Money services may be temporarily unavailable as the company implements the system improvements.
The company said it had made arrangements to minimise disruptions and complete the upgrade within the planned timeframe.
Customers who need assistance can contact Airtel customer care by calling 100.
Airtel Money Tanzania Managing Director Andrew Rugamba said the upgrade was part of the company's commitment to improving the quality, reliability and security of its services.
“Our customers remain at the heart of everything we do. This upgrade will provide a faster, more stable and more secure platform for our customers,” Rugamba said.
The improvements are intended to enhance the performance of the platform, which customers use to send and receive money, pay bills, make merchant payments and access other financial services through their mobile phones.
