The Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) has been named Africa’s Best Investment Promotion Agency for 2026, in a major international recognition of the country’s efforts to improve its investment climate and attract more productive capital.
TISEZA received the award at the AIM Investment Awards 2026 during a gala dinner held at the Dubai World Trade Centre in the United Arab Emirates, attended by government leaders, investors, business executives and investment promotion experts from around the world.
The authority was recognised for its performance in attracting and facilitating foreign direct investment (FDI), as well as efforts to improve investor services and support the establishment and implementation of investment projects in Tanzania.
The award comes as Tanzania intensifies reforms aimed at creating a more predictable and competitive business environment, streamlining investment procedures and positioning the country as a preferred destination for both domestic and international investors.
For Tanzania, the recognition could strengthen the country's profile among global investors at a time when competition for investment capital across African economies is increasing.
TISEZA said the award would provide additional momentum to efforts to attract quality investments capable of supporting industrialisation, technology and skills transfer, export growth and job creation.
The authority also highlighted its focus on developing competitive Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and ensuring that investments secured through its facilitation translate into tangible economic and social benefits for Tanzanians.
The award was received on behalf of TISEZA Director General by Felista Steven Lelo, a member of the authority’s Board of Directors.
The recognition places TISEZA among Africa’s leading investment promotion institutions and offers further international visibility for Tanzania’s investment opportunities, particularly in industries capable of driving value addition and creating employment.
It also comes as the government seeks to deepen private-sector participation in economic transformation and attract investment aligned with Tanzania’s long-term development ambitions.
