The Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO) has been honoured with an award in recognition of its outstanding contribution to innovation and the development of Tanzania’s energy sector.
The award was presented to TANESCO during the 2026 Construction and Mining Infrastructure Awards, held on September 4, 2026, in Dar es Salaam.
Presenting the award on behalf of the Minister for Construction, Abdallah Ulega, the Director of Contractors Registration at the Ministry of Construction, Engineer Rhoben Nkori, commended TANESCO for its continued efforts to strengthen electricity supply across various parts of the country.
Eng. Nkori noted that improving access to reliable electricity has played an important role in stimulating development across different sectors of the economy, including industry, businesses, social services and other key areas of national development.
The award was presented by the Construction and Infrastructure Association of Tanzania (CCIT) as recognition of TANESCO’s contribution to innovation, infrastructure development and the advancement of the energy sector in Tanzania.
The recognition highlights the important role played by TANESCO in supporting the country’s development through continued investment in electricity infrastructure, improved power access and initiatives aimed at strengthening the national energy system.
TANESCO’s recognition at the awards ceremony further demonstrates the growing importance of innovation and sustainable infrastructure development in driving Tanzania’s economic and social transformation.
