Mineral indicative prices for September 07, 2026

The Mining Commission has released the indicative prices for gold, silver and copper for September 7, 2026, with gold continuing to record a significantly higher value compared with the other two minerals.

According to the latest figures released by the Mining Commission, the world market price of gold stands at US$4,446.10 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS 378,898.03 per gram. 

The mineral market price has been set at TZS 341,008.23 per gram, while the buying centre price stands at TZS 333,430.27 per gram.

The latest gold price highlights the continued strong value of the precious metal in international and domestic markets. 

For miners and mineral traders, the buying centre price provides an important reference when conducting gold transactions at authorised buying centres.

Meanwhile, the world market price of silver stands at US$66.84 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS 5,696.13 per gram. The mineral market price is TZS 5,126.51 per gram, while the buying centre price has been set at TZS 5,012.59 per gram.

Silver remains an important precious and industrial metal, with demand coming from a range of sectors. The indicative prices provide a reference for participants involved in the production, trading and processing of silver in Tanzania.

For copper, the Mining Commission has announced a world market price of US$6.57 per pound, equivalent to TZS 38.39 per gram. The mineral market price is TZS 34.55 per gram, while the buying centre price stands at TZS 33.79 per gram.

The indicative prices are important to Tanzania's mining sector because they provide benchmarks for mineral transactions and help promote transparency in the buying and selling of minerals. 

They are particularly relevant to miners, mineral traders, buying centres and other stakeholders involved in the country's mineral value chain.

Among the three minerals covered by the latest announcement, gold remains by far the most valuable, with the buying centre price reaching TZS 333,430.27 per gram. Silver follows at TZS 5,012.59 per gram, while copper stands at TZS 33.79 per gram.

The prices announced by the Mining Commission reflect the prevailing international market values and provide an important reference point for mineral trading activities in Tanzania.
