Tanzania’s Mining Commission has released new indicative mineral prices for September 29, 2026, with gold recording a world market price of USD4,162.51 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS355,484.14 per gram.
The latest figures provide a reference for mineral traders and buyers, with the indicative buying-centre price for gold set at TZS312,826.04 per gram.
The Commission’s mineral market price for gold stands at TZS319,935.72 per gram, reflecting the pricing levels used across the domestic mineral trading system.
The figures come as gold prices remain closely watched by miners, traders and the Government because of the mineral’s contribution to Tanzania’s export earnings and foreign-exchange inflows.
For silver, the Commission set the world market price at USD61.33 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS5,237.66 per gram.
The mineral market price for silver was set at TZS4,713.90 per gram, while the indicative buying-centre price stood at TZS4,609.14 per gram.
The Commission also released indicative prices for copper, with the world market price listed at USD6.63 per pound, equivalent to TZS38.81 per gram.
Copper’s mineral market price was set at TZS34.93 per gram, while the buying-centre price was TZS34.15 per gram.
The indicative prices are used as reference points in Tanzania’s mineral trading framework and are subject to changes in international commodity prices and other market factors.
The Mining Commission publishes the prices through its official channels as part of efforts to provide market information to participants in the country’s mining sector.
The latest figures highlight the significant gap between international reference prices and domestic buying-centre prices, with gold miners and traders able to use the published rates when assessing transactions.
