The latest figures also underscore the influence of global commodity markets on mineral prices in Tanzania, particularly for precious metals such as gold and silver.

The mining sector remains a key contributor to Tanzania’s economy through export earnings, government revenue, employment and investment, with gold continuing to account for a significant share of the country’s mineral exports.

The Mining Commission regularly issues indicative mineral prices based on developments in international markets and other factors affecting the value of minerals traded in Tanzania.
