Mineral indicative price for September 17, 2026


The Mining Commission has set the indicative buying-centre price for gold at TZS328,107.51 per gram for September 17, 2026, as international gold prices remain above TZS370,000 per gram.

The commission's latest figures put the world market price of gold at TZS372,849.44 per gram, while the mineral market price stands at TZS335,564.50 per gram. Gold is trading at $4,368.40 per troy ounce on the world market.

The indicative prices provide a reference for mineral transactions and are particularly important to miners and traders when determining the value of gold at authorised buying centres.

For silver, the Mining Commission has set the buying-centre price at TZS4,863.33 per gram.

The world market price is TZS5,526.51 per gram, equivalent to $64.75 per troy ounce, while the mineral market price is TZS4,973.86 per gram.

The indicative buying-centre price for copper has been set at TZS33.22 per gram, against a mineral market price of TZS33.97 per gram.

The international copper price is $6.45 per pound, equivalent to TZS37.75 per gram.

The publication of indicative mineral prices helps provide market participants with a common reference point for mineral transactions and reflects changes in international commodity prices.

For Tanzania's mining sector, movements in global prices can directly affect the returns earned by miners, traders and other players across the mineral value chain.
