The Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) has received oral health supplies worth TZS9 million from Chemi & Cotex to support patients receiving treatment at its Department of Oral and Dental Health.

The donation comprises 2,000 tubes of Whitedent toothpaste and 2,000 toothbrushes, which will be distributed to patients, particularly those facing various oral and dental health challenges.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Muhimbili Executive Director, Dr Rachel Mhaville, the hospital’s Director of Surgical Services thanked Chemi & Cotex for supporting patients seeking oral and dental care.

She said the supplies would help address some of the needs of patients receiving treatment at the department, while calling on other stakeholders to work with the hospital to strengthen healthcare services.

“The support will help us reach patients who need these products and complement our efforts to improve oral and dental healthcare services,” she said.

Representing Chemi & Cotex, Dr Erick Sylvester said the donation marked the beginning of a long-term partnership between the company and Muhimbili.

He said the company had chosen to contribute to the community by supporting initiatives aimed at improving oral and dental health.

The partnership comes amid continued efforts by health institutions to work with the private sector and other stakeholders to complement government investment in healthcare.

The donated toothpaste and toothbrushes are expected to benefit patients receiving services at Muhimbili’s Department of Oral and Dental Health.
