Singida Black Stars (Singida BS) is set to make club history after announcing plans to host its first-ever NBC Premier League match under floodlights when it takes on Fountain Gate on August 14, 2026, at Airtel Stadium in Singida.
The highly anticipated fixture will mark Singida BS’s first home match of the 2026/2027 Tanzania Premier League season, with the club promising fans a memorable football experience as it opens a new chapter in its history.
The match comes shortly after Singida BS’s participation in the CECAFA Kagame Cup tournament in Rwanda, where the team competed in the group stage as part of its preparations for the upcoming league campaign.
Singida BS spokesperson Hussein Massanza said the night fixture represents an important milestone for the club and reflects its continued efforts to improve the matchday experience for supporters.
“For the first time, we are going to make history by playing our Premier League match at night. We are inviting our fans to come in large numbers because there will be entertainment and a great atmosphere to enjoy football,” Massanza said.
He urged supporters to fill the stadium and be part of the historic occasion, saying their presence would provide motivation for the players as they begin the new season.
Massanza added that the team is continuing with intensive preparations, with the main focus being on starting the campaign with positive results and achieving the objectives set for the season.
Singida BS will be hoping to use home advantage against Fountain Gate as it seeks a strong start to the new Premier League season while creating another landmark moment in the club’s growing history.
