Simba Reach Nine-Point Target After Hard-Fought Singida Victory

By Victoria Godfrey

Simba SC have completed their intended nine-point haul from the opening three matches of the NBC Tanzania Premier League season after securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Singida Black Stars at Airtel Stadium in Singida.

The visitors made a bright start to the encounter, taking the lead in the 12th minute through Clatous Chama, putting Simba in control early in the match.

Singida BS, however, responded strongly and restored parity in the 22nd minute when Sheikhan Ibrahim found the back of the net.

The two sides remained level at 1-1 until halftime, setting up an equally competitive second half.

Both teams returned from the break with attacking intent, creating pressure at either end while remaining disciplined in their defensive approach.

Simba eventually regained the lead in the 62nd minute when Rushine De Reuck scored to make it 2-1.

The match took another turn when Simba were reduced to 10 men following Antony Mligo’s red card.

Despite playing with a numerical disadvantage, Simba showed resilience to protect their lead and secure maximum points at the final whistle.

The result means Simba have won all three of their opening league matches, taking their tally to nine points and fulfilling their initial target for the start of the campaign.

However, their disciplinary record is emerging as a concern. The club have now collected three red cards in their first three league matches, an issue that could test their squad depth and affect their consistency if not addressed.

With their winning run intact, Simba will now look to maintain their strong start while working to improve their discipline in the matches ahead.
