Yanga fans are confident their team will maintain its perfect start to the NBC Premier League season when it faces JKT Tanzania at KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam on August 24.

The defending champions have won their opening two matches, collecting six points after victories over Namungo and Coastal Union, and supporters believe the club has the quality to extend its winning run.

Speaking separately, the fans said they expected a competitive encounter but remained optimistic that Yanga would emerge with maximum points and strengthen its position in the early title race.

Supporter Emmanuel Mabuye said the team's strong start had increased fans' confidence that Yanga could successfully defend its league title.

“We have high expectations because we believe in this squad. The players have shown that they are capable of competing at the highest level, and we believe Yanga can win the title again,” he said.

Another supporter, Rashid Hussein, said Yanga's performances in its opening matches had demonstrated the team's determination to remain among the leading contenders.

He said the players would need to maintain their focus and avoid complacency if they are to secure another victory against JKT Tanzania.

“We have started well, but the season is still long. The players must remain focused and treat every match seriously,” Hussein said.

The encounter is expected to provide another test of Yanga's title credentials, with the champions seeking to preserve their winning momentum while JKT Tanzania will be determined to produce a strong performance against one of the league's leading sides.
