The Petroleum Bulk Procurement Agency (PBPA) is using the Fourth National Culture Exhibition to engage the public on its role in ensuring reliable and affordable supplies of petroleum products in Tanzania.
The agency is showcasing its operations at the exhibition, where experts are educating visitors on the Bulk Procurement System and how it supports the availability of petrol, diesel and aviation fuel across the country.
PBPA officials are explaining how the agency coordinates the importation, receipt and distribution of petroleum products, highlighting the system’s role in improving reliability of supplies and promoting competitive prices.
Visitors are also being introduced to the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, an electronic monitoring platform used to track the discharge of petroleum products from vessels to storage facilities.
The system enables authorities to monitor the movement of fuel during the discharge process, supporting greater oversight of petroleum handling and supply operations.
PBPA said its participation in the national exhibition is aimed at strengthening public awareness of its mandate while giving citizens an opportunity to understand how the Bulk Procurement System contributes to national energy security.
The agency has encouraged members of the public attending the exhibition to visit its pavilion, interact with its experts and seek clarification on issues related to petroleum procurement and supply.
The exhibition provides an important platform for PBPA to bridge the information gap between the agency and consumers, particularly on how petroleum products reach the Tanzanian market and the systems in place to support a stable supply.
