Mineral indicative prices for August 11, 2026


The Mining Commission has released its indicative mineral prices for August 11, 2026, with gold trading at TZS 340,739.81 per gram at the mineral market price.

According to the commission, the world market price for gold stands at US$4,432.50 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS 378,599.79 per gram.

The buying centre price for gold has been set at TZS 333,167.81 per gram.

Silver is also trading at relatively high levels, with its world market price standing at US$65.93 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS 5,631.38 per gram

The mineral market price is TZS 5,068.24 per gram, while the buying centre price stands at TZS 4,955.61 per gram.

For copper, the world market price is US$6.59 per pound, translating to TZS 38.60 per gram. The mineral market price is TZS 34.74 per gram, while the buying centre price stands at TZS 33.97 per gram.

The indicative prices provide reference values for miners, mineral traders and buying centres, supporting transparency in the trading of minerals across the country.

The latest figures underscore the continued importance of precious and industrial minerals to Tanzania’s mining sector and the wider economy.
