Tonny Rashid confident ahead of Juma Choki clash in Dar Boxing Derby

Professional boxer Tonny Rashid has expressed full confidence ahead of his upcoming showdown with Juma Choki in the Dar Boxing Derby scheduled for July 24 at the East African Community Logistics Centre (EACLC) Hall in Dar es Salaam.

Rashid, who has just returned to Tanzania from South Africa where he was undergoing intensive preparations, said he is physically and mentally ready for the highly anticipated bout. 

His return marks the final phase of his build-up as he focuses on fine-tuning his strategy ahead of fight night.

Speaking upon arrival, Rashid acknowledged Choki’s strength and experience, noting that he respects his opponent but remains determined to secure victory.

“This is a tough fight, and I respect my opponent a lot. But I have prepared well. My coaches have studied his weaknesses, and we are ready to use them to our advantage,” said Rashid.

He emphasized that the bout is expected to be highly competitive and entertaining, given the quality and determination of both fighters. 

According to him, fans should expect an intense battle that will showcase skill, discipline, and high-level boxing tactics.

Rashid added that his training camp in South Africa played a crucial role in sharpening his technique, endurance, and ring awareness. 

He said all preparations have now been completed, and he is fully focused on delivering a strong performance on fight day.

He also called on boxing fans across the country to turn up in large numbers, promising an exciting night filled with action and surprises.

“I invite all fans to come and witness this fight. I promise them a great show and something special in the ring,” he added.

The Dar Boxing Derby is expected to draw strong attention from boxing enthusiasts, with both Rashid and Choki seen as rising contenders in Tanzania’s growing professional boxing scene.
