The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Tanzania, under the leadership of H.E. Fahad Rashid Al Marekhi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United Republic of Tanzania, organized a Salat al-Gha'ib (the absentee funeral prayer) in Dar es Salaam for the late Father Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
The solemn prayer brought together the Ambassador, officials of the Embassy of the State of Qatar, religious leaders and members of the Muslim community, who gathered to offer prayers and supplications for the late Father Amir, asking Almighty Allah to forgive him, grant him abundant mercy and admit him into the highest ranks of Paradise.
The gathering reflected the deep respect and affection enjoyed by the late Father Amir, whose visionary leadership played a pivotal role in transforming Qatar into one of the world's leading nations in development, education, healthcare, infrastructure and international engagement. Participants also acknowledged his lasting humanitarian legacy and his support for initiatives that have positively impacted communities across the globe.
The ceremony, coordinated by the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Tanzania, highlighted the Embassy's continued commitment to engaging with the Muslim community and strengthening the enduring bonds of friendship between the peoples of Qatar and Tanzania.
The large attendance by religious leaders and worshippers demonstrated the close ties shared between the two nations and the solidarity extended to the State of Qatar during this period of mourning.
The event concluded with special prayers for the late Father Amir, as participants conveyed their heartfelt condolences to His Highness the Amir, the Royal Family, the Government and the people of the State of Qatar, while praying for continued peace, unity and prosperity for the nation.
