The Minister for Energy, Deogratius Ndejembi, has held discussions with the Ambassador of Norway to Tanzania, Tone Tinnes, aimed at strengthening and advancing bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
The talks were held on May 22, 2026, at the Ministry of Energy’s Sub-Office in Dar es Salaam, where the two sides explored a wide range of strategic areas of collaboration focused on accelerating energy development in both countries.
Key areas discussed included cooperation in natural gas development, electricity generation and distribution, renewable energy expansion, as well as the exchange of technical expertise and best practices to enhance efficiency and sustainability in the energy sector.
Both parties emphasized the importance of deepening long-term partnerships that can support Tanzania’s ongoing energy transformation agenda while also promoting shared learning and innovation between the two countries.
The meeting was also attended by the Commissioner for Petroleum and Gas from the Ministry of Energy, Mr. Goodluck Shirima, the Director of Development and Production from the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC), Mr. Paschal Njiko, alongside other energy experts and officials.
Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation continues to play a key role in the country’s upstream petroleum and gas development efforts, which formed part of the broader discussions during the meeting.
The engagement reflects continued diplomatic and technical cooperation between Tanzania and Norway in advancing sustainable energy solutions and supporting national development priorities.
