Allan Okello proved decisive once again as Young Africans (Yanga) secured a narrow 1-0 victory over KMC in an NBC Tanzania Mainland Premier League clash played at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam.
The Ugandan midfielder scored the only goal of the match in the 65th minute, calmly converting after a well-constructed attacking move that broke KMC’s resistance in a tightly contested encounter.
The match began with both sides showing discipline and caution. KMC, fighting to move away from the lower end of the table, adopted a compact defensive approach while looking for counter-attacking chances.
Yanga, meanwhile, dominated possession and dictated the tempo but struggled to break through in the first half.
Despite their struggles, KMC managed to create a few promising moments, though they lacked the final touch in front of goal.
Yanga continued to press forward with patience, increasing their attacking intensity after the break.
Their pressure eventually paid off midway through the second half when Okello found space inside the attacking third and finished clinically to give the visitors the lead.
After going ahead, Yanga controlled the game with greater composure, managing possession and limiting KMC’s attempts to respond in the closing stages.
The victory takes Yanga to 51 points, keeping them firmly at the top of the league standings and strengthening their title ambitions.
For KMC, the defeat deepens their struggles as they remain in the relegation zone, facing increasing pressure as the season progresses.
