Yanga SC suffered a 3–2 defeat to Dodoma Jiji in a tightly contested Tanzania Mainland Premier League match played at Airtel Stadium in Singida, with the visitors producing a dramatic late turnaround to secure all three points.

Yanga started the match brightly and needed only two minutes to take the lead. Midfielder Allan Okello finished off a fast attacking move to give the defending champions a 1–0 advantage and silence the opposition early on.

Dodoma Jiji responded well and gradually grew into the game. Their pressure paid off in the 29th minute when Yanga defender Bakari Mwamnyeto turned the ball into his own net, gifting Dodoma Jiji the equaliser and bringing the match back to level terms at 1–1.

Despite the setback, Yanga quickly regained control. In the 41st minute, Okello struck again, scoring his second goal of the match to restore Yanga’s lead. The visitors went into halftime leading 2–1 after a competitive first half.

The second half saw increased intensity from both sides, with Dodoma Jiji pushing forward in search of an equaliser while Yanga attempted to protect their lead and add a third goal to kill off the game.

Dodoma Jiji’s persistence finally paid off in the 90th minute when Kibuta found the back of the net to level the score at 2–2, setting up a tense finish to the match.

Deep into stoppage time, Dodoma Jiji completed their remarkable comeback. In the 90+6th minute, they scored a third goal that sealed a 3–2 victory, leaving Yanga stunned as the final whistle followed immediately after the restart.

The result hands Dodoma Jiji a valuable three points in a dramatic encounter, while Yanga SC are left to reflect on a missed opportunity after twice taking the lead and ultimately conceding a last-gasp winner.
