The third season of the Swahili Talent Swimming Competition concluded on Sunday at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club, bringing together more than 300 young swimmers from over 25 schools across the country.

Sponsored by Absa Bank Tanzania, the competition focused on identifying and nurturing young swimming talent while promoting inclusivity through the participation of children with special needs from Dar es Salaam and Arusha.

The event featured a series of competitive races and award presentations attended by parents, coaches and sports stakeholders.

Young swimmers showcased their abilities in different categories as organisers emphasized the importance of youth sports development and equal participation opportunities.

Speaking during the prize-giving ceremony, Absa Bank Tanzania Liability Products Manager, Mr. George Kaindoah, presented awards to some of the top performers, including Malachi Mwiki and Amran Suleiman. Other winners included Alssein Humudi and Konhelli Mhella.

The competition also highlighted the participation of children with special needs, who received medals in recognition of their efforts and determination during the event.

Young swimmer Cairo Erick Johannes impressed spectators with his performance in the pool, while Malikah Kassim proudly displayed her medal after competing in the tournament.

Organisers said the annual competition continues to grow in participation and impact, helping create a platform for young swimmers to develop their talents and gain exposure in the sport.
