Palestine targets greater trade exposure at Sabasaba 2026

By The Respondents Reporter

The Ambassador of Palestine to Tanzania, Salam Abu Sharar, has engaged in discussions with the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade) over his country’s planned participation in the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, as preparations for the flagship event gather pace.

During a visit to TanTrade headquarters in Dar es Salaam, the envoy outlined Palestine’s intention to leverage the Sabasaba platform to deepen its global trade visibility and strengthen commercial linkages.

He said participation in the fair would also offer an opportunity to showcase Palestine’s cultural heritage alongside its business and investment prospects.

The annual fair remains one of the region’s most prominent trade exhibitions, drawing a wide range of exhibitors, investors and policymakers, and providing a gateway for international market access.

TanTrade officials, in turn, formally received the ambassador and briefed him on procedures for securing exhibition space, as well as strategic considerations for effective participation.

The authority underscored the importance of early engagement and well-curated displays to maximise impact during the event.

Palestine’s expected presence is set to further enrich the international profile of this year’s Sabasaba, reinforcing its standing as a key platform for trade promotion and economic diplomacy.
