Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Amb. Mahmoud Thabit Kombo (MP), received a courtesy visit from the Ambassador of India to Tanzania, Bishwadip Dey, on April 8, 2026, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The talks reinforced bilateral ties and discussion about strategic partnership, emphasizing the importance of deepening cooperation to accelerate the implementation of agreements between the two nations, including the 13 Memoranda of Understanding currently under discussion which will allow both countries to progress in economic and diplomatic collaboration.
Discussions also covered the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA), a conservation initiative launched in 2023, which seeks broader global participation, as well as plans to expand cooperation in the mining, energy and health sector
