The Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism netball team produced a dominant performance after thrashing the Bank of Tanzania (BoT) 46–6 in the ongoing May Day Games in Njombe Region.
The match, played under misty conditions and light rain, was largely one-sided as the Maliasili side controlled proceedings from the start.
Their players showed pace, discipline and sharp finishing, converting chances with ease and keeping constant pressure on their opponents throughout the game.
The victory highlights the team’s strong preparation and growing confidence in the tournament, where they have emerged as one of the sides to watch.
Beyond netball, the ministry is also making a strong impact in other disciplines. The women’s tug-of-war team secured a 2–0 win against TPDC, while the football team managed a tough contest against Ulinzi, maintaining a leading position in their group standings.
Officials from the ministry say participation in the games is aimed at strengthening unity and cooperation among institutions, while also providing a platform to showcase the ministry’s work and promote its image through sports.
Spectators in Njombe have continued to express excitement over the level of competition, with the Maliasili team drawing attention for its consistency and dominance across events.
