The Secretary of the Competition Committee at the Tanzania Professional Boxing Regulatory Commission (TPBRC), Ibrahim Kamwe, has officially welcomed Dauka Somba as the new Information Officer of the Tanzania Professional Boxing Coaches Association (TPBCA), praising the association’s decision as timely and strategic for the growth of professional boxing in the country.
Speaking at the TPBRC offices in Dar es Salaam, Kamwe commended Somba for his dedication and called on young professionals to contribute actively to the sport.
“I congratulate the coaches’ association for appointing Somba as their Information and Communications Officer. This is a very positive move given his significant contributions to boxing. We expect a lot from young, energetic individuals like him to help take the sport to new heights,” Kamwe said.
He added that TPBRC values the involvement of committed individuals who can strengthen the sport through effective communication and innovation. Kamwe also welcomed Somba to the wider leadership of Tanzanian boxing and expressed optimism that his efforts would enhance the visibility and professionalism of the sport.
“Your work will help advance boxing in Tanzania. We look forward to continued collaboration and, in the future, we may call on you to work with us more closely at TPBRC,” Kamwe concluded.
