President Mwinyi: digital education key to Zanzibar’s development

President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has highlighted the critical role of digital education in driving the islands’ development.

President Mwinyi made the remarks during a meeting at the State House with Mr. Cihan Aktaş, Chief Executive Officer of Turkey’s FMSS Bilişim Teknoloji, and his delegation. 

The discussions focused on collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training to implement digital education reforms across Zanzibar.

“Education is a priority sector for Zanzibar’s development, and digital transformation in our schools will strengthen learning outcomes while preparing our youth for the future,” President Mwinyi said. 

He assured FMSS Bilişim Teknoloji of the government’s support and directed the Ministry of Education to continue discussions with the company to identify key areas of cooperation.

The President also noted that this partnership will enhance the strong diplomatic and economic ties between Zanzibar and Turkey.

Mr. Cihan Aktaş, CEO of FMSS Bilişim Teknoloji, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting Zanzibar’s education sector. 

“We bring extensive experience in teacher training, technology integration, and modern teaching methods, and we are excited to contribute to Zanzibar’s ongoing educational progress,” he said.

The collaboration marks a significant step toward modernizing Zanzibar’s education system, ensuring students benefit from digital tools and innovative learning methods that align with global standards.
