Professional boxer Karima Mandonga has expressed shock and frustration over his recent draw with rival Maximum Clavery, famously known as ‘Black Cobra,’ insisting that the result did not reflect his performance in the ring.
The preliminary bout at the Punch Kwa Heshima event ended all rounds without a winner, leaving fans and fighters alike disappointed.
“I am ready for a rematch. He may think he is on my level, but I have made it clear—he now knows what kind of fighter Mandonga is,” Mandonga said after the fight.
He also suggested that Clavery consider stepping away from boxing and return to his work in security.
Mandonga revealed that he is already preparing to intensify his training to return to the ring stronger, faster, and more determined, promising an exciting comeback for boxing fans.
“It has been a long time since I last fought, but now I am back with fire. Fans should expect something extraordinary—I’m coming with a new strategy,” he added.
Clavery, on the other hand, expressed his disappointment with the draw, claiming he had the upper hand and deserved the win.
“I landed more scoring punches than my opponent, but the judges’ decision does not reflect the fight. It hurts deeply; I strongly disagree with their ruling,” said Clavery.
With both fighters calling for clarity, a rematch now seems inevitable, promising another intense showdown for Tanzanian boxing enthusiasts.
