Lupa Member of Parliament Masache Kasaka has contributed TZS2 million to support the women’s development fund in Chunya District, as part of activities marking International Women’s Day.
Kasaka made the contribution on Saturday, March 7, 2026, when he was the guest of honour during the district-level celebrations held at Upendo Ward in Chunya.
Speaking during the event, the legislator said women have continued to demonstrate strong performance in leadership, business and economic activities, playing a key role in the country’s development.
He noted that women are increasingly taking up leadership positions and expanding their participation in entrepreneurship and other income-generating activities, which has strengthened community development.
Kasaka also commended President Samia Suluhu Hassan for what he described as significant efforts in implementing development projects across the country, including initiatives that have benefited residents in his constituency.
During the celebrations, the MP also urged women who have received loans from local government authorities to ensure they repay them on time so that other eligible groups can also access the funds.
“Loan repayment is important because it allows more women to benefit from the revolving fund provided by councils,” he said.
Apart from contributing to the women’s fund, Kasaka also donated Sh500,000 to support 16 students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are pursuing their education in the district.
The event brought together various local leaders and community members to commemorate the global day dedicated to recognising women’s achievements and promoting gender equality.
Among the leaders who accompanied the MP during the celebrations were Chunya District Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Secretary Jokely Suleiman and the District Executive Director Tamimu Kambona.
