Government strengthens procurement officers’ skills in sustainable supply chains

By The Respondents Reporter

The Ministry of Finance has completed a four-day training program for government procurement and supply officers, aimed at enhancing the implementation of sustainable supply chain practices across Tanzania.

The training, organized by the Public Procurement Policy Department from March 2 to 5, 2026, brought together 52 officers from Kagera, Katavi, Kigoma, Ruvuma, Mbeya, Iringa, and Dar es Salaam.

Participants gained practical knowledge on strategies and methods that support sustainable supply chain execution and were encouraged to share recommendations to improve operational efficiency.

The program also focused on building the professional capacity of procurement officers, ensuring they are better equipped to apply modern techniques in managing supply chain activities that are sustainable, efficient, and accountable.

By investing in capacity building, the Ministry of Finance aims to strengthen public procurement processes, contributing to more effective government service delivery and enhanced value for public resources.
