The Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Albert Chalamila, participated in a special Iftar gathering organized by the non-governmental organization Ikhsan Aid Network, with support from GSM and State Oil.
The event, held at Msasani Tower in Kinondoni District, brought together people with visual impairments and children from orphanages, creating a moment of shared reflection and community solidarity.
Addressing the participants, RC Chalamila emphasized the importance of Tanzanians maintaining unity, love, and cooperation, not only during the holy month of Ramadan but throughout the year.
He highlighted that such gatherings offer a platform for people of different faiths to meet, interact, and foster mutual understanding, contributing to lasting peace and stability in the country.
“Events like this remind us that love, care, and support should transcend religious differences. We are all Tanzanians, and our strength lies in our unity,” RC Chalamila said.
The Iftar was attended by religious leaders, community stakeholders, and members of the public, underlining the role of social initiatives in strengthening community bonds and supporting vulnerable groups.
Organizers noted that gatherings of this kind play a crucial role in promoting social cohesion and demonstrating solidarity with those in need.
