A couple who emerged winners in the third phase of the Upendo Porini campaign have begun a special wildlife tour at Mikumi National Park, enjoying a unique blend of romance and nature in one of Tanzania’s most accessible national parks.
The winners, Yona Samwel, popularly known on social media as @snipertaget, and his partner Foibe, were warmly received by the park’s management upon arrival.
The couple was congratulated for winning the third round of the campaign and for choosing Mikumi as their destination to celebrate the initiative that promotes love and tourism within Tanzania’s protected areas.
Officials from Tanzania National Parks Authority (Tanapa) welcomed the pair and presented them with gifts as souvenirs to commemorate their visit to the park.
Following the reception, Yona and Foibe embarked on a game drive across Mikumi’s vast savannah plains, where they experienced the park’s rich wildlife and scenic landscapes.
Within a short time during the tour, the couple spotted a variety of animals, including elephants, lions, giraffes, hippos and zebras.
The sightings, combined with the park’s open grasslands and unique natural scenery, offered them a memorable safari experience.
Mikumi National Park, located along the Dar es Salaam–Morogoro highway, is among the most visited parks in Tanzania due to its accessibility and abundant wildlife.
The park’s landscape, often compared to the famous Serengeti plains, provides excellent opportunities for visitors to see animals in their natural habitat.
Through the Upendo Porini campaign, Tanapa aims to encourage Tanzanians to explore the country’s national parks while promoting domestic tourism and appreciation of nature.
The authority has urged the public to continue following updates on tourism activities and conservation efforts through its official social media platforms, including @tanzaniaparks, where more information about Tanzania’s national parks is regularly shared.
