The Vice President of Tanzania, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, met today, 13 February 2026, in Dodoma with Mr. Peter Nalitolela, Chief Executive Officer of the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE).

During the meeting, the Vice President urged DSE officials to continue working hard, be innovative, and create opportunities to attract more investors to Tanzania.

He emphasized that strong and creative financial markets are key to driving the nation’s growth.

Mr. Nalitolela assured the Vice President that the DSE will continue collaborating closely with the government to raise capital and support the implementation of Tanzania’s National Development Vision 2050, which aims to grow the economy to US$1 trillion by 2050.

The Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange is a vital institution that helps mobilize long-term funds to finance Tanzania’s economic development.

It provides a transparent and secure platform where both local and international investors can trade shares, bonds, and other financial products.

Currently, the DSE has a total market value of TZS 31.9 trillion and more than 779,000 registered investors.

The Exchange is also a proud member of the World Federation of Exchanges, the East African Community (EAC), and the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

By strengthening the stock market, Tanzania is creating opportunities for citizens to invest, grow their wealth, and play an active role in the country’s economic future.
