The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting businesses and promoting voluntary tax compliance through a strengthened partnership with Tanzania Commercial Bank (TCB).

TRA Commissioner General, Mr. Yusuph Juma Mwenda, met with TCB Managing Director, Mr. Adam Mihayo, at TRA offices in Dar es Salaam on February 27, 2026, to discuss ways to enhance collaboration between the revenue authority and the bank.

During the meeting, both parties agreed to work together to empower businesses, promote economic growth, and encourage more taxpayers to meet their obligations voluntarily.

Commissioner General Mwenda said TRA values all taxpayers who follow the law and remains committed to listening to their needs and supporting their growth.

He praised TCB as a model taxpayer, highlighting the bank’s role in providing financial services that help other businesses access working capital and meet tax obligations.

“At TRA, one of our key roles is to facilitate businesses. You also support other taxpayers through your services. We will continue to collaborate with you and other law-abiding businesses to encourage voluntary tax compliance,” he said.

Mr. Mihayo noted that TCB has seen increased profitability, boosting its tax contributions. He emphasized the bank’s focus on working with small-scale industrial producers to strengthen their operations, enhance productivity, and support voluntary tax payments.

He reiterated that TCB has consistently been a voluntary taxpayer while helping businesses grow.

This partnership underscores TRA’s strategy of combining regulatory oversight with practical support to ensure businesses thrive while contributing to national development through taxes.
