The Tanzania Postal Corporation (TPC) has received a major boost after the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Angellah Jasmine Mbelwa Kairuki (MP), officially handed over 12 vehicles valued at TZS 2.2 billion and 40 electric motorbikes worth TZS 200 million.

The handover took place on February 8, 2026, during the closing ceremony of the National Addressing Week at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam.

At the ceremony, Minister Kairuki handed one vehicle and four electric motorbikes to the Minister of State in the Vice President’s Office (Policy, Coordination, and the National Assembly) for TPC’s central operations.

The remaining 11 vehicles were handed over to TPC Postmaster General, Mr. Macrice Mbodo, for distribution to the corporation’s offices across mainland Tanzania.

The new fleet is expected to significantly improve TPC’s operational capacity, streamline postal services, and enhance nationwide delivery efficiency.

The introduction of 40 electric motorbikes also reflects the government’s commitment to promoting environmentally friendly and sustainable transport solutions.

Minister Kairuki said the initiative aligns with the government’s broader strategy to modernize public service delivery, emphasizing efficiency, sustainability, and accessibility for all Tanzanians.
