SINGIDA Black Stars will be fighting to keep their CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final hopes alive when they face Algeria’s CR Belouizdad tomorrow in a decisive Group Stage match at the New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar.

The two sides, both tied on four points, are treating the encounter as a must-win as the group battle intensifies.

Coaches and players from both camps addressed the media on Friday, February 7, 2026, expressing confidence and caution ahead of the crucial showdown.

Singida Black Stars head coach Othman Najjar said his team understands the magnitude of the fixture and must remain disciplined while capitalising on scoring opportunities.

“This is a very important match for us. We must be focused, organised and make good use of the chances we create,” Najjar said.

“We still have a realistic chance to qualify, and the players are mentally and physically ready to fight.”he added

He noted that a win or a positive result would significantly boost the team’s chances of advancing to the knockout stage.

Midfielder Moris Chukwu said the players are fully aware of what is at stake and are determined to collect maximum points.

“We know how important this game is. Winning will put us in a strong position in the group, so we have to fight until the last minute,” Chukwu said.

CR Belouizdad head coach Saed Ramoic said his side has arrived in Zanzibar with one clear objective victory.

“It will be a tough match, but our goal is to leave Zanzibar with three points,” Ramoic said. “We have prepared well and will apply the right tactical approach to get the result we want.”

His sentiments were echoed by teammate Jean Charles Ahoua, who said morale within the Algerian side is high ahead of the encounter.

“We are well prepared and highly motivated. A win would take us to seven points and put us closer to the quarter-finals,” Ahoua said.

The match is expected to be fiercely contested, with both teams seeking to strengthen their qualification prospects as the CAF Confederation Cup group stage approaches a critical phase.
