The Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office for Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG), Prof. Riziki Shemdoe, has instructed managers and coordinators of the Tanzania Cities Infrastructure Development Project (TACTIC) to ensure that 14 newly handed-over vehicles are used exclusively for project management, helping citizens benefit from roads, markets, and bus terminals constructed under the initiative.
The directive came on February 21, 2026, during a handover ceremony at Millennium Tower Conference Hall, Kijitonyama, Dar es Salaam, where TARURA managers from the first group of 12 project cities received the vehicles.
“These vehicles are purchased with public funds and must be used solely for TACTIC project management. They are not for personal or other uses,” Prof. Shemdoe emphasized.
He urged contractors to execute projects efficiently according to signed contracts, warning that the government will not hesitate to terminate agreements for delayed or substandard work.
Prof. Shemdoe assured that funding is sufficient, noting that contractors are promptly paid upon submitting valid payment requests, leaving no reason for delays.
Eng. Albert Kyando, TARURA Sumbawanga District Manager, thanked the government for the vehicles, promising proper care and use to ensure close project supervision.
Driver Joshua Magati from Arusha City also pledged to maintain the vehicles and use them strictly for TACTIC project activities, including timely inspections and maintenance.
