Ministers Convene in Lushoto to address conflicts and challenges in Tanga Region

Seven sectoral ministers, led by their host, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office – Local Government (PMO-RALG), Prof. Riziki Shemdoe, MP for Lushoto, met in Lushoto District to discuss solutions for persistent challenges and conflicts in Tanga Region, including land disputes and other local issues. 

This meeting is part of the implementation of directives from Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba during his ongoing working visit to the region.

The session, chaired by the Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr. Asiatu Kijaji, brought together ministers and technical experts from various sectors to develop actionable strategies. 

Recommendations from the meeting will be submitted to the Prime Minister to ensure timely and effective government response.

During the meeting, members of the community had the opportunity to raise concerns and present grievances directly to the leadership. 

This participatory approach aims to ensure that challenges are accurately understood and addressed through practical solutions.

Prof. Shemdoe emphasized the importance of involving local stakeholders in decision-making processes to prevent avoidable conflicts and ensure sustainable resolutions. 

Speaking to the press after the meeting, he expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba for prioritizing regional challenges and directing ministers to meet in Lushoto to assess issues firsthand and propose actionable solutions.

The meeting highlights the government’s commitment to effective governance and problem-solving, ensuring that persistent challenges in Tanga Region are systematically addressed.
