Mbeya DED warns accounting teachers on risks of data breaches

By Samwel Ndoni, Mbeya

The District Executive Director (DED) of Mbeya, Erica Yegella, has cautioned accounting teachers about the dangers of exposing private data while using public internet services, warning that careless handling of sensitive information could lead to unauthorized access.

Speaking during a one-day training on the FFAIRS system for accounting teachers, Ms. Yegella highlighted that entering personal passwords on public computers is unsafe and could result in data theft without the user’s knowledge.

“Many teachers share their passwords at public computer stations. This is risky and can lead to information being stolen without their awareness,” she said.

The training aimed to equip teachers with practical knowledge on using digital systems safely, particularly when entering financial records and school statistics into the FFAIRS platform.

Ms. Yegella urged teachers to follow strict data security protocols to protect school and student information from misuse or loss.

The session included detailed instructions on how to access and use the FFAIRS system effectively while ensuring data remains secure.

Participants praised the training, saying the skills learned would improve their work efficiency and help safeguard sensitive information.
