Kagera Region launches investment desk to boost local investment

By The Respondents Reporter

Kagera Region has taken a significant step towards strengthening its investment climate following the successful hosting of an Investment Forum and the launch of a Regional Investment Desk, attended by more than 100 investors and businesspeople.

The event, held on January 7, 2026, at the former Bukoba Rural District Hall, brought together key stakeholders from the public and private sectors to discuss practical investment opportunities and challenges facing investors in the region.

Participants actively engaged by asking questions, sharing their experiences, and seeking clarity on procedures and support available from the government.

During the forum, officials from the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) outlined various incentives provided by the government, including those available through special economic zones.

They also highlighted priority investment areas in Kagera, encouraging local and external investors to tap into the region’s vast economic potential.

The forum was jointly organized by TISEZA and officers from the Department of Industry, Trade and Investment, with a focus on taking investment services closer to citizens.

The initiative aimed to equip investors with practical knowledge, improve access to information, and strengthen coordination between investors and government institutions.

The launch of the Regional Investment Desk is expected to simplify investment processes by providing a one-stop point for guidance, facilitation, and follow-up on investment-related matters at the regional level.

The investment forum and the establishment of the desk are part of the government’s ongoing national campaign to promote domestic investment, stimulate regional economic growth, and contribute to Tanzania’s broader economic development objectives.
