The Minister for Finance, Ambassador Khamis Mussa Omar (Mb), has urged leaders and staff of the Ministry of Finance to offer full cooperation to the newly appointed Deputy Permanent Secretary responsible for Administration and Treasury Services, Mr Nsubili Joshua, to ensure effective execution of the Ministry’s duties.

Ambassador Omar made the call during a brief reception held at the Ministry’s sub-offices in Dar es Salaam, following Mr Joshua’s swearing-in by President Samia Suluhu Hassan at State House.

Senior officials and members of staff attended the event, which was followed by a short welcoming meeting chaired by the Minister.

He said the Ministry of Finance plays a central role in managing the country’s economy, noting that unity, teamwork, solidarity and mutual respect among leaders and staff are critical in strengthening performance and delivering results that support national development.

“Cooperation and shared commitment are among the key pillars that enable the Ministry to fulfil its mandate effectively,” Ambassador Omar said.

Speaking earlier, Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Mr Elijah Mwandumbya, said Mr Joshua’s appointment reflects President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s confidence in his experience and leadership capacity, describing him as a suitable choice to support the Ministry’s administrative and treasury functions.

In his remarks, Mr Joshua pledged to work closely with stakeholders within the Ministry to support the Permanent Secretary in executing the Ministry’s responsibilities.

He said he is ready to learn, collaborate and contribute fully to strengthening service delivery and institutional performance.

Mr Joshua succeeds Ms Jenifa Christian Omolo, who was recently appointed Permanent Secretary in the newly established Ministry of Youth.
