The race for the top spot in the Tanzanian Women’s Premier League this season is heating up, as three teams battle fiercely for the championship.

Simba Queens currently lead the standings with 22 points, just one ahead of Yanga Princess, who have 21 points, while JKT Queens are close behind with 20 points. All three teams have played eight matches so far, making every point crucial in the title chase.

These teams have maintained impressive form throughout the season, consistently securing wins against tough opponents while competing fiercely against each other. Each victory has been hard-fought, reflecting their shared ambition to claim the league crown.

In the most recent matches, Simba Queens dominated Tausi FC 3-0 at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam. Yanga Princess triumphed 5-4 against Fountain Gate Princess at the Tanzanite Kwaraa Stadium in Manyara, while JKT Queens secured a 2-0 victory over Ruangwa at Majaliwa Stadium in Lindi.

Other results included Alliance Girls narrowly defeating Bilo FC 1-0 at Nyamagana Stadium in Mwanza, Bunda claiming a 1-0 win over Geita Queens at Karume Stadium in Mara, and Ceasiaa overcoming Suluhu 1-0 against Mashujaa at CCM Samora Stadium in Iringa.

Simba Queens head coach, Mussa Mgosi, described their latest win as a demanding match that required tactical intelligence and focus, particularly with a number of key players sidelined due to injuries and a string of challenging fixtures.

“We managed to exploit our opponents’ mistakes and create scoring opportunities that ultimately earned us three important points,” Mgosi said.

“With some players recovering from injuries, we have to rotate our squad carefully and manage their energy. Looking ahead to our next match against Mashujaa Queens, we must remain vigilant, as we do not yet know how they will line up.”he added

Simba Queens midfielder Ruth Ingosi added that the match was highly competitive and physically challenging. “It was tough, but we fought hard as a team and managed to secure all three points, which are very important in this title race,” she said.

With the league entering a critical phase, every match counts, and the competition at the top promises an exciting finish this season.

Fans are eagerly watching as Simba Queens, Yanga Princess, and JKT Queens continue their fierce battle for supremacy in Tanzanian women’s football.
