In a move to support environmental conservation, the Tanzania Education Institute (TET) today led a tree-planting exercise in celebration of President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s birthday.

The initiative was spearheaded by TET Director General, Dr. Aneth Komba, together with the Institute’s management team. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Komba extended heartfelt birthday wishes to the President, praying for her long life and continued success.

Addressing participants during the exercise, Dr. Komba said the tree-planting activity is part of TET’s practical approach to celebrating the day while promoting environmental awareness.

He highlighted that the initiative complements the enhanced primary school curriculum, particularly Geography and Environmental Studies, where students learn about the importance of sustainable practices.

“This is more than a celebration. It is a tangible demonstration of our commitment to protecting the environment and integrating these values into education,” Dr. Komba said.

The exercise brought together staff and management, reflecting TET’s determination to set an example in environmental stewardship, encouraging both educators and students to take active roles in conserving the country’s natural resources.
