The Ministry of Industry and Trade has kicked off a renewed effort to strengthen Tanzania’s industrial and trade sector, as Minister Judith Kapinga (MP) welcomed the ministry’s new Deputy Minister, Denis Londo (MP), urging close collaboration to deliver results for the nation.
Speaking at the ministry’s offices in Dodoma, Minister Kapinga assured Deputy Minister Londo of her full support and called on the ministry’s management and staff to work hand in hand with him to achieve their shared objectives.
“I urge all management and staff to fully cooperate with the Deputy Minister so that together we can perform our duties efficiently and achieve the ministry’s goals for the benefit of all Tanzanians,” said Minister Kapinga.
Deputy Minister Londo described the task ahead as “immense,” noting that President Samia Suluhu Hassan has high expectations for the sector, which is crucial for the country’s economic growth.
He stressed that most employment opportunities in Tanzania come from the private sector, through trade and investment.
“Our mission is to ensure that Tanzanians, especially in the private sector, see themselves as key contributors to society and nation-building. Everyone must understand their role and impact in shaping the future of our country,” said Deputy Minister Londo.
He further emphasized the ministry’s responsibility to support small businesses and entrepreneurs, equipping them to secure a better future than the one they inherited.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Hashil Abdallah, said the sector’s achievements stem from the collective efforts of institutions under the ministry, guided by the strong and steady leadership of Minister Kapinga.
The meeting marks the beginning of a strengthened partnership within the ministry, aimed at advancing Tanzania’s industrial and trade sector to meet the nation’s economic aspirations.
