Tanzania and Turkey have agreed to strengthen cooperation aimed at empowering youth and women through training, business mentorship, and networking opportunities.
The initiative will connect Tanzanian youth to the Young MÜSIAD Platform, enabling them to gain skills, business experience, and access to international trade networks.
Dr. John Jingu, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups, announced the agreement during his official working visit to Turkey on December 18, 2025.
The discussions focused on collaboration in mentorship programs, innovation, technology, and exchange visits, designed to equip Tanzanian youth with expertise in business and entrepreneurship. Dr. Jingu said the move is part of ongoing efforts to boost trade and investment between the two countries.
“Tanzania and Turkey are strong trade partners. This partnership will create opportunities for Tanzanian youth and women to acquire skills and access platforms that enhance entrepreneurship and business growth,” Dr. Jingu said.
Under the agreement, Tanzania will prepare a draft framework to formalize cooperation with MÜSIAD, particularly in supporting youth and women economic empowerment through business and entrepreneurship initiatives.
“MÜSIAD has over 35 years of experience in trade and economics, with more than 60,000 members across 25 sectors. Through this collaboration, Tanzanian youth and women will benefit greatly from mentorship and business networks,” Dr. Jingu added.
The Tanzanian government has also intensified efforts to equip youth with essential skills to manage businesses professionally and improve economic outcomes.
During the visit, Dr. Jingu met leaders of MÜSIAD and the Women and Democracy Foundation (KADEM) and held talks with Mr. Osman Nuri Önügören, Chairman of the Diplomacy Relations Commission, alongside senior executives from the association.
The partnership is expected to create lasting opportunities for youth and women, promoting entrepreneurship, trade, and stronger bilateral economic relations between Tanzania and Turkey.
