The Tanzania Police Force has reassured citizens that the country remains safe and stable, urging the public to continue with their daily activities as normal.
This comes as the Police issued a warning to individuals still attempting to mobilize demonstrations that were previously banned for failing to meet legal requirements.
Police Spokesperson Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) David Misime said security agencies across the country are fully prepared to protect people’s lives, property, and the peace that allows Tanzanians to work and move freely.
“Our duty is to ensure every citizen continues with their economic and social activities in an environment of peace and safety,” DCP Misime said in the statement issued today.
He emphasized that attempts to organize what some groups describe as “peaceful, unlimited demonstrations” remain unlawful.
The Police say these gatherings were prohibited because they did not meet the constitutional and legal criteria required for public demonstrations under the Police Force and Auxiliary Services Act, Chapter 322.
DCP Misime noted that some individuals are encouraging people to take to the streets today after failing to do so on October 29, 2025.
He warned that anyone who defies the law and creates conditions that threaten public order will face legal action.
“The Police will not allow actions that risk national security or interfere with citizens’ livelihoods. Those who deliberately disobey the law will be stopped, so the country remains safe and peace-loving Tanzanians remain protected,” he said.
The Police urged the public to remain calm, focus on their daily responsibilities, and follow guidance from security organs in all areas.
Citizens were reminded that respecting the law is key to maintaining Tanzania’s long-standing peace and ensuring everyone can continue to live and work without fear.
